How this website handles personal information. In short: no cookies, analytics or forms, standard server logs kept for 90 days, and the emails you choose to send us.
Who we are
This website is run by Vision Nexus, Inc., doing business as Linewise (formerly Vision Lab), 2261 Market Street STE 86572, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@linewise.io.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the website at linewise.io and www.linewise.io. It does not cover data we capture in our data services, such as recordings and engineering records from partner sites and customer projects. That work is governed by our agreements with those sites, customers and partners, and by the consent of the people involved.
What we collect
- Server logs. When you load a page, our hosting provider records standard request details: your IP address, browser and device (user agent), the page requested, the referring page, the time and the response status.
- Emails you send us. If you write to info@linewise.io about a data requirement, a partnership or a job, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include, such as a CV or links to your work.
The site has no forms or accounts. It does not use cookies or similar technologies such as local storage, and it has no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
Other services your browser connects to
- Google Fonts. Pages load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so your browser sends Google your IP address and user agent. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Google's privacy policy.
- LinkedIn. If you follow a link to our LinkedIn page, LinkedIn's privacy policy applies there.
How we use it
- Server logs help us run the site, fix problems and keep it secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website.
- Inquiries are used to reply and to discuss working together. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps you ask for before entering into a contract.
- Job applications are used to assess your application and talk to you about working with us. Our legal basis is taking steps before a possible employment contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
Two service providers process this information for us: Google Cloud, which hosts the site in the United States and keeps its server logs, and Google Workspace, which handles our email. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, where the site is hosted. Our team also works from Thailand and elsewhere in Asia and Latin America, so emails you send us may be read from those countries. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses, we use them.
How long we keep it
- Server logs are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Emails are kept for as long as we need them for the conversation, the working relationship or the hiring process, and then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Security
Pages are served over HTTPS. Logs and email are held in our Google Cloud and Google Workspace accounts, which only people we authorise can access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, get a copy of it, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email info@linewise.io. We may need to confirm your identity, we will reply within the time the law allows, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
- California. The CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, and to delete or correct it. In the last 12 months we have collected identifiers (such as IP address and email address), internet activity (pages requested and referring page) and, from job applicants, professional information, all from you or your browser. We do not sell or share it as the CCPA defines those terms, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- EEA and UK. The GDPR and UK GDPR give you the rights above, including the right to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. If we add analytics, forms or cookies, we will update this policy first.
